Day One

Your weekend getaway begins with a private boat transfer from the local islands, sweeping you into the soothing tranquility of the Hawkesbury River. Feel your muscles relax and your winter blues melt away as you cruise up the sparkling water.

Upon arrival at the lodge, you’ll be treated to a complimentary welcome drink as you take in the sweeping scenery and abundant bushland surrounding us on all sides. It’s a pretty magical location, so you’ll want to savour the moment!

Allow us to check you into the Peninsula Tent, a luxury heated river safari tent with the best views of the Hawkesbury. Recline in an expansive lounge area and watch the sunset from a large outdoor balcony among the treetops.

Keep things slow with a stroll up the lit sculpture trail to Budyari Restaurant, where you’ll be enveloped in its toasty warm interiors for a French-inspired six-course degustation dinner. Enjoy fresh, locally sourced produce from farmers and trawlers along the Hawkesbury, as well as a selection of wines hand picked by our executive chef to perfectly match the seasonal flavours.

Day Two

Wake up at your leisure to native birdsong and indulge in a slow morning in the tent. Or, if you prefer to get out in the crisp early morning air, come to our guided sunrise yoga on the lawn or in the boathouse, the perfect way to start your day.

Following a warming breakfast at Budyari, take a relaxing paddle across the river to Bar Island and witness some of Australia’s oldest and almost untouched Indigneous history. Allow our tour guides to lead you through preserved walkways while providing a plethora of cultural knowledge and colourful stories of the region’s rich history.

Return to the restaurant for a light lunch or take a picnic hamper to enjoy in the sunny grounds. To really get your fill of the river, join us on an afternoon champagne and oyster cruise aboard our luxury vessel. Glide up the river and watch the eucalypt-covered hills, soaring sea eagles and local trawlers passing by with their catch.

Stop by the crackling fire pit for a pre-dinner drink to warm up beneath a starlit sky untarnished by city lights. Breathe in the crisp, wintry air before enjoying a sumptuous banquet back in the warmth of Budyari Restaurant.
